Interaction of structures of organization different levels and plant adaptation strategies

On the base of the long-term study of plant adaptation to the industrial pollution in the North, the key role of interrelations between photosynthetic structures of different hierarchy has been proposed. Cooperation of the membrane, plastid, cell, leaf, plant organism, population and ecosystem levels of organization in apply to plant stress and adaptation in the polluted areas have been under discussion.

Age aspects of plant adaptation in harsh environmental conditions

Further development of the theory of plant cyclic senescence and juvenilization created by a Russian botanist N.P. Krenke has been discussed on the basis of modern ideas of oxidative stress, and photosynthetic structures' hierarchy. The authors have proposed that specificity of interrelations between modifications of structures differentiated by their level of organization plays a key role in delay of senescence stipulated by harsh environmental conditions.

On the balance of plant mineral nutrition elements in the agroecosystem system of the Murmansk region

Balance between soil mineral elements represents one of the most important characteristics of plant mineral nutrition. The N, P and K balance in soils of the main agricultural enterprises in the Murmansk region has been analyzed. The authors have come to the conclusion that low effectiveness of soil exploration in the region has been generated by violation in the balance between elements of plant nutrition.

Human being and biodiversity: Orthodox view on the problem of interrelation

The statement of the "person – technics" problem is highly connected to all the problems of freedom of a person, human creativity, personality and spirit. This can be tracked from the history of the philosophical studying of the technics phenomenon. In this paper the major thinkers who influenced on the history of philosophy of technics have been considered. They are representatives of an engineering approach, science, and sociopolitical direction in philosophy. The review of the different opinions and ideas of these thinkers can give better understanding of technics philosophy problems. Here we also consider the modern role of a person in the society, and such concepts of technics philosophy, as organoprojection, technical outlook, alienation, civilization.

The role of the seed exchange in the enlargement of the collection of the introduced grass vegetations of the Polar-Alpine Botanical Garden

Assortment, age structure and condition of wood introducents used in planting of trees and shrubs of the town Apatity have been considered in the paper. Decorative quality features and agrotechnical particularities for the most wide-spread species have been given. Comparative analysis of the species variety and introducents' stability during 30 years have been shown.

Low temperature effects on phenological rhythms of higher plants of different growth form in the Far North town conditions

Phenological characteristics of vascular plant of different growth types cultivated in the North town (Murmansk) conditions were studied in 2007-2009 in connection with long-term temperature variations. The obtained data have been under discussion on the basis of two plant adaptive strategies opinion and theory of plant cyclic senescence and reuvenilization.

Ecological and hygienic evaluation of environment in the location of the Khibiny ore mining and processing enterprise

An integrated assessment of unfavourable conditions impact on health of Khibiny ore mining and processing enterprise workers has been given in the paper. The main attention has been attracted to the research and identification of the pollutants emission accompanied phosphorus-enriching concentrate production. Initial chemicals used in the apatite concentrate processing are briefly reviewed from the biosafety point of view. To determine anthropogenic pollution atmosphere air, surface and underground water body, soil and vegetation are taken as indicators.

Effect of low temperatures on higher plants fenorhythms of urbanized northern ecosystems

The paper presents data on phenological and climatic observations during 2007-2010. The observations took place in Murmansk on the test territory (Kildinskaya street). The results of observations have been considered from the point of view of plant adaptive possibilities in connection with low temperatures accompanied with the anthropologic impact.
